The solo work "With My Dad's Wonderfully Useless Ideas" by Airi Suzuki is a collaborative stage piece created with her late father, who passed away 30 years ago. By unraveling the many home videos, notes, and idea books he left behind. Suzuki, who lost her father at the age of 10, created this work by going through his belongings, listening to memories shared by her mother and her father's friends, and collecting stories of friends' memories with their own fathers. Although this is a solo performance, her father's presence continuously appears through his voice and notes. Now, as Suzuki herself has become a parent, the audience can perhaps see the image of a father who loves and cares for his child. It is hoped that through this piece, audiences will share in the experience of her father’s presence being revived within her after 30 years.
